He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Mary Lois Whalin (Chastain); and his brother Michael Wayne Whalin. He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Kay Whalin of Mitchell; his daughter Leah Marie DeWeese (Brad) of Mitchell; his stepsons, Larry Croan of Mitchell and Adam Croan (Jose) of Austin, Texas; his grandchildren, Matthew Kent Moore (Savannah) of Mitchell and Victoria Grace Keefe (Mikie) of Bedford; his stepgranddaughters, Chloe DeWeese of Bedford, Veronika Croan of Austin and Bree Croan of Austin, Texas; and his great grandchild Marlee Jaye Moore.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Chastain Funeral Home (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center (705 W Warren St, Mitchell, IN 47446). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at the Mitchell Cemetery (1315 W Brook St, Mitchell, IN 47446).
