He was predeceased by: his parent Cora Pauline Cave (Wentland); his siblings, Kathleen Cave, Maralee Mauk (Cave), Doris Bueche (Cave), Roger, Jerry and Rex Cave; his parents-in-law, Walter "Cy" Weaver and Mary Weaver; and his siblings-in-law, Darrol Ruch and Phyllis Weaver.

He is survived by: his wife Leona Cave; his children, Rick Cave (Kim), Cindy Ward (Mark), Tammy Budzinski (Jim) and Chad Cave (Angie); his grandchildren, Brooke Brown (Joe), Brittney Cave, Braxston Cave (Natalie), Ashley Overholser (Justin), Aubrie Ward, Alicia Ward, Justin Budzinski (Emily) and Katy Lukaszewski (Jamie); his siblings, Barb Cave, Colleen Cave, Freida Soto and Bill Cave; and his brother-in-law Terry Weaver. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
