He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald William Carder and Gladys Carder (Ott); his former wife Imogene Carder (Bowman); and his siblings, Donald Carder, Ruth Vail, Betty Garrett and Joyce Carder.

He is survived by: his sons, Stephen Carder (Helen) of Milroy, William Carder (Sally) of Indianapolis and Kevin Carder of Indianapolis; his stepchildren, Mike Scott (Jill) of Georgia, Gregory Scott (Jane) of Georgia, Gerry Scott (Shaune) of Florida, Brian Scott of Georgia and Donna Scott of Georgia; and his sister Patty Jackson of Connersville. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and several step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to OUR Hospice of South Central Indiana, in care of the funeral home.
