She was predeceased by: her parents, Herb Schaefer and Mary Schaefer; and her siblings, Stan, Jerry Schaefer, Mary Alice Hanawalt and Ruth Fritz.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Evangeline Schaefer (Verkamp); her husband Bob Volz of Milan; her sister Patricia Swing (Patrick) of Jackson, Ohio; and her sister-in-law Rosalind Schaefer of Batavia, Ohio. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given in honor of Shirley to the Milan Food Pantry.
