The memory of Leona G. Purcell of Milan, Indiana, born in Shelby, Indiana, who passed away on October 18, 2024 at the age of 103, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Though Leona may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Leona touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Rouse and Rhoda Rouse (Worrell); and her husband Mitchell Purcell. She is survived by: her brother-in-law Rufus Purcell (Sue) of Milan; her close friend Lorraine Workman of Osgood; and her niece Andi Kinman of Dillsboro. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given in honor of Leona to the Ripley Crossing Activity Fund.
