She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Riehle and Edna Riehle (Forthofer); her daughter Lisa Amberger; her brother Ralph Riehle; and her siblings-in-law, Dennis Schwering, Harry Laker and Rita Amberger.

She is survived by: her husband Irvin Amberger of Milan; her children, Edward "Ted" Amberger (Angie) of Milan and Lola Paras (Mark) of Indianapolis; her siblings, Mark Riehle (Carlene) of Sunman, Alma Laker of Sunman, Betty Federle (Donny) of Morris and Janet Schwering of Greensburg; her grandchildren, Lauren Hagan (Maxx), Morgan Davidson (Nicholas), Alexis Luers (Michael), Ean Amberger, Adele Amberger and Taylor Amberger; and her great grandchild Lily Hagan.

Memorials may be given in honor of Helen for masses at St. Charles Catholic Church or to the Milan Fire Department.
