He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernie Davis and Waunita Hastings (Pemberton); and his brother Timothy Tarbutton. He is survived by: his wife Jan Davis (Smith) of Milan; his children, Thais Cook (Barron) of Batesville, Jeni Werner (Daniel) of St. Leon, Ernie Davis Jr. (Lisa) of Mt. Pleasant, Jodi Eckstein (C. C.) of Sunman and Jeffery Schornick (Melody) of Batesville; and his brothers, Walter Davis (Lynne) of Milan and Durwood "Toby" Hunter of Batesville. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in honor of Ernie to Milan First Baptist Church, Safe Passage, or Margaret Mary Health Hospice.
