He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leroy and Rose; his wife Melba; his stepchildren, Joseph Campbell Jr. (Kelly), Lonnie Campbell (Tammy), Jamie Campbell (Dena) and Charles Campbell; and his brother Dale Graham. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
