He was predeceased by: his father Glenn Cheek; and his brother-in-law Larry Sellers. He is survived by: his mother Jesse "Cleo" Cheek (Gilley) of North Carolina; his close friend Mary Ann Boyd of Moores Hill; his children, Michael Cheek of Jersey City and Cynthia "Cindy" Carpenter (Gary) of Clarksville, Tennessee; his sisters, Kathy Sellers of Flint and Janie Wooten (Spencer) of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Christy Hunter (Mike) and Michelle Thompson (Cesar); and his great grandchildren, Scarlett and Natalie Thompson.
