He is survived by: his mother LaMona Bates-West (Flatt) of Osgood; his children, Christopher Bates (Amanda) of Greensburg, Brandy Howington (Donald) of Milan and Amanda Bates (Tom Whitaker) of Tennessee; the mother of his children Iris Beal (Eugene) of Tennessee; and his siblings, Gene Bates (Nicki) of Versailles, Warren Bates (Denise) of Versailles, Gary Lauber (Stephanie) of Milan, Jessica Hubbard (Hal) of Greensburg and Lynn Bates. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in honor of Bruce to Ripley County Humane Society.
