He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mitchell and Mary Alwilda "Chuck" Bath Clapp; his brothers, Claude Edwin and James Edward Clapp; and his nephew John Clapp.
He is survived by: his wife Nila Christine (Riggs) of Middletown; his son Michael Edwin Clapp of Scipio, IN; his nephew Gary Clapp of Indianapolis; and his grandsons, Bryan Messick, Matthew Clapp and Jason Clapp. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Middletown Fall Creek Township Fire Department, Middletown EMS or the Cadiz Christian Church.
