He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Smith and Martha Smith (Layton); his wife Janis Smith; his brother Douglas Smith; and his son-in-law Gary Rudig.
He is survived by: his children, Sheri Rudig of Anderson, Rick Smith (Sheila) of Middletown, Debbi Smith of Anderson and Michael Smith of Anderson; and his grandchildren, Tina Rains, Brandy Smith, Jerry Rudig (Amanda), Ashley Reed (Jason), Cory Smith (Macy), Taylor Bell (Jeff) and Nick Bell. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the National Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choosing.
