He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Griffis and Lois Griffis (Fleming); and his wife Catherine Griffis. He is survived by: his children, Joseph Johnson, James Griffis (Brandy), Ellyn Stinson (Jeff), Rebekah Young and Katie Griffis; his sister Jo Lynn Dunham (Mike); and his close friend Herbie. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
