He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Lowell and Thelma Chapman (Brown); his wife Janet Ritchie; his siblings, Jerry Chapman, Joyce Ambs and Nancy Cook; and his granddaughter Sarah Chapman.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Chapman (Brenda) of Middletown, Tricia Yost (Terry) of Middletown, Dawn Neal (Ray) of Middletown and J. B. Chapman (Paula) of Middletown; his grandchildren, Matthew Chapman (Brianna), Jacob Chapman (Hannah), Kylee Eller (Andrew), Chris Fellers (Abbie), Heather Hertzberg (Mark), Alicia Hanson (Daniel), Evan Neal, Miranda Heinold (Chase), Megan Nave (Devon) and Daniel Chapman (Jesseca); his sister Sue Melton; and his sisters-in-law, Debbie Chapman and Judith Ritchie. He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
