He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobert L. Sharp and Nettie Sharp (Mills). He is survived by: his wife Judith Sharp (Daugherty); and his children, James "Jim" K. Ecker (Pamela), Steven Ecker, Sie Sharp Jr. (Tara Ann Shoemaker), Dennis Sharp (Chasity), Angie Capp (Timothy) and Shelly Powell (Ray). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.
