Troy M Harrison Obituary

Troy M. Harrison, 83, of Michigan City passed away Sunday, March 24, 20024 at Life Care Center in Michigan City.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday April 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the 7th Day Adventist Church on Ohio Street in Michigan City.

The Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Troy was born September 17, 1940 to the late William and Wonetta (Moore) Harrison.

On July 10, 1977 in LaPorte he married Claudette Hebert who is surviving in Michigan City.

Surviving are two sons; Pernell Harrison and Chrisman (Mary) Harrison; one daughter, Mrya Carol Cook; two grandchildren, Juliana and Jennifer Janish; one brother Michael Harrison; one sister Vivian Beam and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by four siblings; Beverly Woollyung, Joyce Hertel, Gary Harrison and Diane Rinker.

Troy was a computer operator for Care Givers Plus Home Health Care in LaPorte.

He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Michigan City. LaPorte County Amateur Radio Club, Michigan City Radio Club, Quarter Century Wireless Association, and Old Timers Radio Club. Troy had been a ham radio operator since 1976 and enjoyed talking and meeting those in his hobby.

He was a proud US Army Veteran stationed in Germany. He will be greatly missed by those that knew him and loved him.

Memorials may be made to A Hand Up. This charity he and his wife Claudette started in 2011 to help those in need.
