He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Hoerr and Aline Hoerr (Weisser); and his brother Wilbur Hoerr. He is survived by: his wife Marguerite Beer; his children, Rebecca Pelath (late Richard) of Michigan City, Robert Hoerr (Lilliam), Frederic (Martha), Fort Valley, Virginia, Douglas Hoerr (Tracy) and Jeffrey Hoerr (Rocio); his grandchildren, Scott, Marc, Tony, August, John, Matthew, Theo, Allison, Becky, Robbie, Mariana, Malcolm and Amelia; and also, Israel, Isabella, Enzo, Leo, Nell, Lucy and Lennon.
