It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Whipple Gehr of Michigan City, Indiana, who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Y. Gehr and Marie V. Gehr (Kientzy); and his siblings, Gretchen M. Gehr and John T. Gehr. He is survived by: his siblings, Thomas Gehr of Vernon Hills, Linda Gehr of Michigan City, Karen Gehr of Michigan City and Shelly Gehr (Ellen Glantz) of Boynton Beach, Florida; his siblings-in-law, Joan Gehr of Vernon Hills, Illinois and David Young of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his nephew Clayton Young (Marjorie); his nieces, Iris Rinker (Chance), Dr. Samantha Gehr Swanson (Ian) and Kelly Gehr; his great-niece Layla Swanson; and his great-nephews, Sullivan Young, Tucker Young and Leo Swanson.
