He is survived by: his sister Pamela V. Thomas; his children, Amaya G. Harris, Amare C. Thomas Bryelle J., Thomas and Chase E. Hill; his close friends, Cynthia D. Johnson and Shawana C. Henderson; and his pets, Zahid and Fatima.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Coleman & Hicks Chapel (101 S Karwick Rd, Michigan City, IN 46360).
Jermel was honored on January 24, 2025 for his outstanding contribution to the Elston High School, Championship Basketball Teams in 1993 and 1994.
