He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Gleason Sr. and Mildred Riddle; and his stepparents, Edward Riddle and Betty Gleason. He is survived by: his wife Judith Gleason; his children, Daniel Gleason and Heidi Ponder; his grandchildren, Dylan Gleason, Makayla Gleason and Cole Ponder; and his stepbrother Keith Miller (Linda).

Memorial contributions may be made in James's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
