She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Stier and Hilda Stier; her brothers, Wayne Stier and Paul Stier; and her close friend Edward Vail.

She is survived by: her husband James Lee Bohnstadt; her sisters, Elayne Nelson (Joe) and Helen Frost; and her sisters-in-law, Marcia Stier and Gloria Stier. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
