He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Nieding and Marie Nieding (Pfaffinger); his grandson William Twyman; and his siblings, Arlene Zuleger and George Pfaffinger.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Ernst; his children, Mark Nieding (Aurora) of Savoy, IL and Melissa Twyman (Scott) of Wilmette, IL; his grandsons, Freddy Ernst, Leo Strauss, Eli Strauss and Matthew Twyman; and his sisters, Corrine Abella of Beaver Creek, OH and Mary Lee Deters of Lake Waynoka, OH..
