Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Betty Jean Yourist of Michigan City, Indiana, who passed away at the age of 94, on December 20, 2023. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Mitchell and Katherine Van Dusen (Cauffman); her husband Marvin H. Yourist; her children, Gerald W. Yourist and Marlene Statler; her granddaughter Stephanie Schoof; her stepfather Harry Van Dusen; and her siblings, Evelyn Phillips, Mildred Van Dusen, Charles Mitchell and James Van Dusen.
She is survived by: her son John F. Cunningham (Eva) of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Shawn P. Cunningham (Mendy) of Portage, IN, Gerald W. Yourist III of LaPorte, IN and Kelly Schaening (Johnny) of China, MI; her great grandchildren, Wyatt and Raine Schaening; her extended family, Albert, Susan Green, Valorie Greer, John and Karen Carr; her nephew Mark Van Dusen (Glenda); and her great-nephews, Mark and Brandon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
