He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonifacio Garcia and Ventura Garcia; and his siblings, Emil Garcia (Sharon) and Bonnie Bosse. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Garcia; his children, Jorie Garcia of Portland, OR and Joey Garcia of Merrillville, IN.; his nephews, Rick Matijevich and Bob Matijevich; and his niece Karen Matijevich Boger.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Joseph's name to the American Cancer Society.
