He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Johns and Beulah Johns; his daughters, Melanie and Kelly Johns; his siblings, James R. "Buddy" Johns and Joy Johns Clemons; and his brother-in-law Paul Burdine.

He is survived by: his wife Regina "Gina" Johns; his sister Marilyn Burdine; his mother-in-law Marilyn "Kay" Wolfe; his sons, Scott Johns (Peggy) and Brian Johns (Christi); his stepchildren, Tyler Roach (Rachel) and Kristina "Kristi" Lay (Sam); and his grandchildren, Kristin Whobrey (Toby), Brian "BJ" Johns II (Ceaira), Tyler Johns of Alex, Brayden Roach and Braxton Roach. He is also survived by 3 great granddaughters, 2 great grandsons, 3 bonus great grandchildren, 6 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Hwy 311, Sellersburg, IN 47172). Viewing was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Kingdom Life Church (11515 US-31, Sellersburg, IN 47172). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
