He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Root and Cynthia Root (Norton); his daughter Paula Moore; his grandmother Land; his brother Homer Root; his grandchildren, John Miller Jr., Ashley Barker and Earl Root III; and his brother-in-law Gene Marsh.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta Root (Edwards); his children, Rebecca Jo Fields (Robert), Charlotte Moore, Teresa Bowman (Shawn) and Earl Root Jr.; and his siblings, Lonny Root, Eddie Root (Janet), Pauline Marsh and Jacqueline Jones (Fred). He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Johnson Funeral Home will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines.
The family requests memorials be given to Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center or Donor's choice.
