He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwight E. Thomas and Eva Nell Thomas (Smith); and his wife Susie. He is survived by: his sons, Kevin Thomas of Florida and Kerry Thomas (Darlene) of Franklin, VA; his grandchildren, Shawn Thomas (Jennifer) and Dylan Thomas (Rose); his great grandchildren, Johnathan Kirk and Jaxon Thomas; his sister Donna Foster (Don) of McCordsville; and his close friends, Jan Smith, Mike Archer and Sarah Emmons.
