He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Sutherland and Frances Grubbs Sutherland; his daughter Annette Sutherland Luther; and his brothers, Thomas and Danny Sutherland.
He is survived by: his wife Bonita Uhl Sutherland of Palmyra; his son Wyatt Sutherland of Wisconsin; and his siblings, Keith Sutherland (Barbara) of Mauckport, Darrell Sutherland (Shirley) of California, Alvin Sutherland of Leavenworth, Virgil Sutherland (Jean) of Arkansas and Joyce Beard of New Albany. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
