He was predeceased by: his wife Esther Ruth Jenkins Jones; his parents, Armour Jones and Arelia Jones; and his brothers, Vernon and Harold Jones.
He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Crystal Jones; his adoptive daughter Dr. Lisa Kinderman; and his siblings, Garriett "Buck" Jones, Arelia Merritt, Bernice Robertson, Janice Lumpkin and Harriett "Ludy" Jorgenson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
