He was predeceased by: his parents, Mervin Lewis Reed and Judy Carol Reed (McNeal); his son Heath Reed; and his brother Vernon Ray Reed. He is survived by: his friend Chantel R. Reed (Reutebuch) of Matthews; his children, Chad A. Reed, Amy Lynn Reed, Todd A. Reed, Niccole Paschall and Stephen Reed; and his siblings, Gail Stone (Stoney) of Kentucky, Jane Swaim (Gayland) of Anderson, Mervin L. Reed II (Michelle) of Fowlerton, Candi Jo Poe (Mike) of Fowlerton and Patrick W. Reed (Brandi) of Matthews. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
