She was predeceased by: her parents, George Powell and Gladys Montogomery Powell; her husband Joseph Morris Stivers, Jr.; her siblings, George Powell, Jr. and Debra Miller; and her cousin Charlotte Perry.
She is survived by: her sons, Joseph Trent Stivers (Faith) of Marysville and Tracy Morris Stivers (Teri) of Lexington, IN; her adoptive son Gary Holmes (Amy) of Lexington; her siblings, Jerry Powell (Jeannie) of Louisville, KY and Janet Haworth of Jeffersonville, IN; her grandchildren, Megan (Justin), Autumn (Aqeel), Savannah, Trey (Kayla), Angelica, Kaitlyn and Khloe; her great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Peyton, Azarah and Waylon; and her close friend Mildred Potts Montgomery.
