He is survived by: his wife Carolyn L. Mitchem (Mounts); his children, Leona Garrett (Charles Roberts) of Mooresville, Timothy Mitchem of Martinsville, Fredia Hughes (Melvin) of Indianapolis, Cathy Marcum (Edward) of Noblesville, Connie Welch (Gary) of Caryville and Carolyn R. Law of Wheatland; and his brothers, Paul Brooks of Gary, William Mitchem of Virginia Beach and Bobby Mitchem of Clayton, Indiana.. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren.
