He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ronald and Sherial Louise Brawley (Plummer); and his sister Rhonda Brawley. He is survived by: his fiancé Connie Pursel of Martinsville; his children, Sean Brawley of Indianapolis, Michael Messer of Fannin County, GA and Mariah Brawley of Indianapolis; his stepchildren, Chad Moldon of Martinsville, Michael Moldon of Brooklyn and Misty Owens of Martinsville; his siblings, John Brawley of Martinsville, Roger Brawley of Martinsville, Sandy Bolin (Gary) of Martinsville and Chrisie Collier (Justin) of Martinsville; and his grandson Micha Messer.
