He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred W. Hill and Ethel V. Hill; and his son-in-law David Lawhorn. He is survived by: his wife Patty Lou Hill (Hicks-Piper); his children, Carol Parsley (Ron West) of Greenwood, Patti Lawhorn of Greenfield and Michael Piper (Linda) of Indianapolis; and his siblings, Charles Hill (Martha) of Martinsville and Lois Wilson of Martinsville. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
