He was predeceased by: his wife Anna Katherine Waltz (Harvey); his parents, Ray and Lonis; and his brother Ray Waltz, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Cornel Waltz (Crystal) of Martinsville, Lonis Kay Waltz of Mooresville, Denise Hamilton (Bill) of Indianapolis, Murlania Marie Richardson (Mike) of Nashville and Esther Maureen Waltz of Indianapolis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for contributions to a charity of the donor's choice or Spirit of 45, 540 East Highland Street, Martinsville, IN 46151.
