She was predeceased by: her father Raymond Gilbert; her husband Richard Hamilton; and her brother Randy Griffin. She is survived by: her mother Dorothy Lucille Griffin (Burpo); her children, Becki Hamilton (Kim Brennan) and Tyler Hamilton (Melissa); her siblings, Jerry Griffin (Pat), Rick Griffin (Marilyn), Priscilla Austin (Gary), Sharon Stickan and Lori Wilber (Lloyd); her grandchildren, Shane, Taylor, Morgan Hamilton, Allison Bailey (Jeremy) and Madison Bales; and her great grandchild Hudson Bailey.

Standout community leader and volunteer, Joyce Kay Hamilton, who was known by so many as a gracious friend, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister was taken from her earthly life on Wednesday, April 8th, 2020 at 4:46 am after battling the coronavirus at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to either the Fall Foliage Festival, 128 N. Jefferson St., Martinsville or the Morgan County History Partnership (for the museum), c/o The Community Foundation of Morgan County, 56 N. Main St., Martinsville, IN 46151.

“Joyce was one of the staunchest cheer leaders for martinsville that i ever knew. She had endless energy and countless ideas no matter what the project or event was. During my years on the fff board she could always be counted on regardless of the assignment or the magnitude of the problem. Please accept my sincerest condolences at her passing. She will be missed by many. Carole and i will continue to keep your family in our prayers.”
