It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Matthew Smith of Martinsville, Indiana, who passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 46, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Everett and Rita Joanne Smith (Arnold); and his siblings, Everett Michael Smith, John Avery Smith, George Arnold Smith and Cathy Sue King.

He is survived by: his wife Michelle Lynne Smith (Cox) of Martinsville; his daughter Samantha Smith (Dom Lunsford) of Martinsville; his granddaughters, Emilia and Vanessa Lunsford; his stepdaughter Madison Cox of Mooresville; and his siblings, William Allen Smith, William Everett Smith Jr., Donald Eugene Catt, Jimmie Lee Smith, Debra Jo Williamson, Carla Sue Niebrugge, Libby JoAnne Lowry, Rebecca Anne Burger and Tracy Lynn Marsh. He is also survived by his family, especially his daughter and grandbabies.
