He was predeceased by: his parents, Elonzo Taylor and May Carmichael (Gibson); his former wife Alice Carmichael (Wilson); his wife Virginia L. "Ginny" Carmichael (Wigal); and his daughter Debbie Carmichael.
He is survived by: his son Richard; his daughter-in-law Connie Carmichael of Mooresville; his daughter Kelly Jo; and his son-in-law Mike Crowl of Tennessee. He is also survived by five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Due to the current restrictions created by the COVID 19 outbreak, a private graveside was held in Friendship Park Cemetery, where Mr. Carmichael was laid to rest beside his late wife, Virginia "Ginny" Carmichael.
