He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira and Lucille; his siblings, Harrison Kent, Margaret Atkins, Marylin Tackett, Violet Rose Kent and Mary Charlene Kent; his grandchildren, Jeremy Collins and Cody Sexton; and his great grandchild Lilyan Schoolcraft.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie L. Kent (Leitzman); his children, Nathan Alan Kent of Broken Arrow, Bradley Scott Kent (Nicole) of Martinsville, Terry Jay, Pamela L. Collins (John) of Nashville, Hope Troutman (Kenny) of Martinsville, Kimberly D. Southers (Greg) of Princess Lake and Sarah Smith of Martinsville; and his siblings, James Kent of Martinsville, Ronald Kent of Martinsville, Robert Kent of Bedford, Dorothy Bailey of Martinsville, Diane Ferrand of Martinsville, Linda Hayes of Bedford, Kathy Locke of Danville and Anita Kent of Camby. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Disabled American Veterans.
