He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Skaggs and Lena Skaggs (Schafer); his wife Twighla J. Skaggs (Bucklew); his siblings, Walter Raymond Skaggs, Marvin Skaggs, Harold "Shorty" Skaggs and Lucille Cox; and his close friend Imogene Perry.
He is survived by: his daughters, Marilyn Metcalf (Dwayne) of Martinsville and Cheryl "Cheri" Sheeks (Stephen) of Martinsville; his brother Larry Skaggs of Florida; and his grandsons, Ben Metcalf and Nathan Metcalf. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
