He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Newton and Bonnie Margaret Steele (Ray); his brother Francis Max Steele; and his half-brothers, Donald Ray Steele, Hershel Dale Dawson, Marshall Dawson and Charlie Dawson.
He is survived by: his wife Gala Lucille Steele; his sons, Gary Dean Steele and Christopher Lee Steele; and his siblings, Nolan Guy Steele, Margaret J. Allison, Rosemary Darlene Stewart, Everette Sherman Dawson and Chyrel Diana Gray.
