He was predeceased by: his father Alfred Sparks; his great grandchild Benjamin Clay Bunton; and his siblings, Warren, Elwood, Jim Sparks, Betty Wray, Molly Vaught, Chrystal Pyke and Zoethel Sparks.
He is survived by: his wife Romaine Sparks (Parsons) of Martinsville, Indiana.; and his children, Terry Sparks (Lisa) of Paragon, Darren Sparks (Paula) of Gosport, Indiana, Cindy Bunton (Tom) and Misty Hodge (David) of Martinsville. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
