She was predeceased by: her parents, William Tomey and Laura Ruth Tomey (Sanders); her husband George J. "Junior" Warthen; her stepson Billy Warthen; and her siblings, Horace, Herman, Keith, Johnny, Stephen, David Tomey, Betty Walker and Mary Savage.
She is survived by: her children, Larry Warthen (Jane) of Gosport, Indiana and Laura Swafford (Eric) of Paragon, Indiana; her stepsons, Bob Warthen (Etta) of Paragon, Indiana and Ronnie Warthen (Cathy Hewitt) of Paragon, Indiana; her siblings, Homer Tomey (Ann) of Avon, Russell Tomey of Greenwood, Indiana and Linda Barnett of Martinsville; and her grandchildren, Jeanette Henry, Whitney Witsken, Erika Gallagher (Brian), Krista Ayers (Austin), Jerry Warthen, Katie Chatwin (Chris), Jessika Johnson (Nick), Cynthia Warthen, Crystal Warthen and Jody Thompson (Makel). She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center (110 E Poston Rd, Martinsville, IN 46151). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
