She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Whitesell and Freeda Mae Whitesell (Hamm); and her siblings, Ernie Whitesell, Myrna Poore, Ernestine Richardson, Barbara Davis, Della Lou Creed and Rhonda Kindred.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Eugene Peters of Martinsville; her children, Barry Peters (Lynn) of Paragon, Dena Peters of Martinsville, Lisa Peters of Martinsville and Melissa Blondell (Jerry) of Mooresville; and her siblings, Melvin Earl Whitesell (Diane) of Martinsville, Celia Scott, Brenda Shaver of Martinsville and Jean Clephane (Gary) of Paragon. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
