He is survived by: his wife Shirley Brooks (Anderson) of Martinsville; his children, Thomas Joseph "Tom" Brooks (Stacey) of Wanamaker, Brandon Brooks (Kayla) of Martinsville, Brent Brooks of Whiteland, Indiana, Tammy Cline (Kenny), Michelle Brooks of Indianapolis, Kim Hall of Wanamaker and Cindy Davis of Richmond, Indiana; and his siblings, Roger Brooks (Carolyn) of Munfordville, Kentucky, Linda Sweet (Ken) and Brenda of Munfordville, Kentucky. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
