He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Melford South and Mary Houk South; his son Kenneth Duane South; and his brothers, David Leroy South and Larry Pennsinger.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Louise Chaney South; his children, Shay South (Amy) of Marshall and Debbie Guinn (James) of Clinton; and his sisters-in-law, Rachel Pennsinger of Wingate and Colleen South of Veedersburg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
