He is survived by: his wife Jeanne; his children, Kent Chavis of New Mexico, Sarah Chavis of Minneapolis, MN and Adrian Chavis of Fort Wayne, IN; and his sisters, Deborah Sanchez (Ray) and Gloria Mroz (Tony).
