He was predeceased by: his parents, John O. Ballenger and Pauline F. Chick (Bennett); his wife Carla Ann Corder; his grandson Eli Raymont; and his siblings, Bob Chapman, Richard "Dick" Ballenger, John "Bill" Ballenger and Paula Sue Monroe.
He is survived by: his children, Samanth L. Ballenger of Montpelier, Diane K. Raymont of Montpelier and Eric E. Ballenger (Amanda) of Muncie; his grandchildren, Jennifer Heath (Jordan) and Nicholas Danser (Katie); his great grandchildren, Zeppelin O'Niell, Grayson Heath, Ollie Heath and Nora Heath; and his siblings, Maxine Miller (Jay) of Marion, Don Ballenger of Marion and Mike Ballenger of Alabama. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
