He was predeceased by: his parents, Evadna Saunders Hopkins and Raymond Hopkins; his wife Mary Lue; his children, Jeffrey Hopkins, Leazanne Bell and Linda House; and his sons-in-law, Darren Bell and Dan Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Warren Hopkins, Patrick Lindsey Hopkins, Theresa Johnson, Jill Nolting (Fred) and Robin Gorczyca (Jim); and his grandchildren, James, Ashley, Joey, Jessica, Jeremiah, Nathan, Jennifer, Andy, Katie, Samantha, Paul, Erin, Allison, Mariah, Aaron, Ben, Kate, Brandon and Kevin. He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 9:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, Rodney requested that donations be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church at 602 Morgan Blvd., Harlingen, TX 78550.
