He was predeceased by: his parents, David Gerber and Jane Thomas (Pennington); his wife Connie Lane; his sister-in-law Judy Gerber; and his brother Lanny Gerber.

He is survived by: his son David Gerber (Monica) of Marion; his grandchildren, Ella and William; and his brother Joseph Gerber.
